Amman

The massive influx of refugees from Israel/Palestine, beginning in 1948, has made the capital of Jordan, a formerly Bedouin-dominated country, what it is now. Amman´s size and importance has let the city to be a major hub for trade and diplomacy with Iraq. Located on the historic Hejaz-Railway route, Amman receives a fair number of tourists each year.
